My Sun Postpaid Plan Retention Application

I have an existing postpaid account with sun cellular under data plan 450. I used this plan for work related communications. It's inclusions are:

- Alcatel handset

- Unlimited calls and text to sun

- 250 texts to other network

- 250 mb data allocation

- 24 months lock-in period

I applied this plan last March 11, 2017 and it's expiring this coming March 11, 2019. I plan to retain my number since I have been using it for all of my important dealings, bank accounts data and other personal data. However, I wanted to apply for line only plan retaining this number.

My Globe Load Tipid Plan 500

I have this load tipid plan 500 with globe for almost 1 year now. I was planning of modifying/changing my plan to their postpaid plan 499. I approach their store where I opened my line. Their sales representative told me that I should call 211 or their globe chat if I wanted to do that. So I did.

I both call 211 and then try their chat service online. Their CSR via 211 told me that he could not change my plan to postpaid plan 499 since is its load tipid plan and it is in a lock up period of 24 months. He said that I the only option is to open a new line.

I try their chat service. Their representative told me that I can only change plan to other load tipid plans and not in postpaid plan. She said that LTP's are considered prepaid and so I have to open another line. So, if you're planning to change your LTP's or applying for one, you know what to do.

Whoa?! Indeed, load tipid plan is like buying a load from the globe store with free phone and no expiry. A glorified prepaid.

My Sun Cellular Postpaid Application

I applied for Suncelluar post paid plan 450 last January 13, 2014, at their Sun Shop in Gaisano Island Mall Mactan. The CSR told me that the processing will be 2-3 days and that they will text me in the number I provided if my application is approved.

The documents I submitted were my last 2 months bill from my Globe LTP 500 Plan, last payment receipt and 2 valid ID's.

3 days after my application, I haven't receive any text yet so I called their mobile toll free hotline (200) to follow-up the status of my application (17January). The CSR told me that my application has not been forwarded by the the Sun Shop Gaisano Island Mall Mactan Branch and told me he'll call the branch re my application and that I should expect a text message within the day.

Sigh. I did not receive any updates within the day. I decided to wait maybe there's a little delay. I am not in rush, it's just that I am irritated since I am told to wait for for 2-3 days. In my experience with Globe, my postpaid application was approved within the day. I really needed a sun postpaid line in connection with my work. Most of our clients have a sun cellular mobile number.

Monday, January 20, 2014 I still did not receive any text/updates from Sun. So, I decided to call their mobile toll free hotline 200. At first, nobody is answering. I am quite impatient and I also emailed them via their Feedback Form. I did try to call again and waited for their CSR to answer, finally, I have speak to someone on the other line and relay my concern. He gave me a reference # and told me to follow-up the status after 2-3 days if I won't receive any text from sun.

I've waited but I still did not receive any text from sun regarding my application so I approach their sun shop store where I applied, last January 28,2014. Their representative told me that they require additional document, my proof of income. So I gave her my latest one month payslip. Again, she told me to wait for sun to text after 2-3 days. That would be February 1 assuming that my application is approved.

Today, February 3, 2014 I still did not receive any text from sun. I plan to follow-up my application later this day. I hope this time they'll give an update, approved or not doesn't matter to me. I need an honest status for my application.

Globe...Good bye?!

I am planning on buying a pocket wifi. Since globe store is near my place, I bought a pocket wifi in their store for Php 1,995.00 with free one hour internet just by texting FREE1 to 8888 according to their ad.

After installing the pocket wifi on my laptop, I transferred Php 2 pesos from my other globe number since the one hour free requires a minimum of Php 1.00 balance. But to my surprise, after I texted FREE1 to 8888 a reply came to me:

"Sorry this offer is available to selected Tattoo Broadband Prepaid subscribers only."

I really dislike dispute and else, the long process, this and that. So, I did not complain to the store and I loaded my new tattoo to access the internet.

What's very disappointing is that, the pocket wifi even with full signal (all green) the internet is too slow like pissing the hell out of me (sorry for being rude). Darn. This time I could not let this pass, so I approach the store and told them about my concern. The CSR told me that they could not check the device since they don't have technician in their store and that I have to go their service center so that the appropriate technician could check it. I was pissed off of course because as I said earlier I dislike hassle and else and besides their customer service center is a distant away from my place. The store only offer 7 days replacement and I only have 2 days left. I don't have time for this....

So, time to decide what to do with my postpaid plan and maybe try the other network. Hmmm! >_<
